Sorry so long!
Hey all!
Sorry there has been such a delay in updating our blog. As you can imagine, we have been a little busy around here lately. The babies are now 4 weeks old. It is hard to believe. They are doing really well. They eat every 3 hours and pretty much sleep in between. That will start to change as we near their due date. They are already starting to have a little more awake time. They are eating really well and gaining lots of weight. Today I have a phone appointment with the nutritionist to discuss weight gain. All 3 boys unfortunately have pink eye. We aren't really sure how that happened since we have to keep them indoors and away from everyone, but I suspect it was one of the photographers from our infant photo shoot. We will definitely post pictures from that when we get them, but until then here are some from our little camera.
Hope you enjoy!

Party time!!!
Last weekend was very busy for us. Harris turned 2 on Friday the 13th, I had a baby shower on Saturday, and Harris' birthday party was on Sunday.
On Friday we let Harris open most of his presents from family and just had a little celebration at home. We cooked dinner and Clay picked up a little cake from delicious Beaverton Bakery. We had a great time. Harris sand "Happy Birthday" all day long and was thoroughly entertained by his new tool bench.
My baby shower on Saturday was so much fun. My good friends Abby and Laura did such a great job planning. They are both so thoughtful and generous and made my day so special. Thanks ladies! We are decorating the nursery with sock monkeys so they ordered a cake to match a painting we are hanging up. Too cute! It was so much fun spending the afternoon with good friends and opening gifts for Elliott, Tucker, and Oliver. It is so much fun imagining our adorable baby boys wearing and using all their new goodies.
Sunday was party day for H-man. He has recently become infatuated with everything Thomas and "choo-choo," so it was a no brainer to have a Thomas themed party. He was so excited when he saw his Thomas cake. His mouth completely dropped open. Too cute! That was exactly the reaction Clay and I were hoping for. After eating a little cake, Harris began opening his birthday presents. The first gift he opened was several Thomas books. He was so excited he immediately began running in circles around the picnic table. In the meantime, one of his friends started opening his other presents for him. Too funny! Harris and 3 of his buddies then opened the rest of the presents together. It was really cute and is the only way all of the presents could have possibly been opened. Otherwise it would have taken hours because Harris opens one gift and the wants to immediately play with that one and has no interest in any others. The kids had a great time playing in the water and on the playground. It was a great day!

We have a name!
I have some updating to do on the triplets. First of all, Clay and I finally came up with a first name for Triplet C. He is Oliver! We are still working on a middle name. It has been a challenge coming up with names that all sound good together and that we love. We finally have though. Whew...what a relief!
The babies are doing really well. So far there have been no signs of twin-to-twin transfusion. They check for this by ultrasound and make sure that one of the identical twins (Elliott and Tucker) doesn't have excess fluid around his heart and kidneys. They also check the blood flow in the umbilical cord. So far, so good. At these appointments my cervix is also checked. Right now everything looks great. In addition to our ultrasounds every other week, a preterm labor nurse calls every week to check on me. She calls to ask a series of questions making sure I am not having any signs of preterm labor.
I have been doing really well. I only get sick one or two times a week now which is much better than the 2 to 4 times a day that I was experiencing the first trimester. In the past week my energy level has greatly diminished. I am now seeing the differences between a singleton pregnancy and a triplet pregnancy. The littlest things wipe me out which makes me feel like a big baby, but I have to listen to my body to protect these little guys. My mom is coming in town next week to start helping out with Harris and everything else. Our priority is keeping life as normal as possible for Harris, so it is really nice that she will be here before I am on bed rest to see how our days usually go. We are really fortunate to have so many friends and family members who are willing to help us in so many ways.
We all of that being said, here are the long awaited pregnancy photos that some of you have requested. Please just remember there are three little babies in there! I know I am big for how far I am, but I am normal for a triplet mommy. Crazy!!!

Triplet Update
Well it has been a long wait and we are happy to report that all is well with the triplets. We didn't have an appointment for one month, so it was a huge relief to see three healthy heartbeats and three active babies. The doctor mostly wanted to check that the identical twins (Elliott and Tucker) were showing no signs of twin-to-twin transfusion. Thank goodness all looks great as of now! The only thing we need to work on is my weight gain. I haven't gained very much and I am supposed to gain 50 to 55 pounds. So I am now supposed to eat non-stop. Clay is very good about getting me milkshakes and other high calorie, non-healthy foods. :)
We also found out some other news in our appointment. Ruby is not a Ruby, but a Reuben. (By the way, that is not really his name. We are trying to come up with another boy name, but it is a challenge.) That's right....Ruby has a penis. We are having three more boys!!! Crazy!
We go tomorrow for our big anatomy scan. They will be checking each baby and measuring all their body parts. Hopefully everything goes well! We will keep you posted!
Triplet A is Elliott and Triplet B is Tucker. Triplet 3 is T.B.A. Soon hopefully!

Dolphins, dophins, and more dolphins!
So here is a video of the dolphins we were lucky enough to see on our snorkeling trip in Hawaii. I know that it isn't the best video in the world, but hang in there. The dolphins did some amazing "tricks" while we were watching. I hope you don't get sea sick!!! And....stay tuned, I hope to add some video of Harris on the beach soon.

Passing Time
Harris is now 18 months old. Crazy! I just wanted to share some of the ways we pass time on a day to day basis. Harris loves playing with his toys. He is crazy about trucks, books, and balls. In this picture he is playing with Dexter the doll, that was Daddy's when he was a little boy. H-man recently discovered dolls. He is quite impressed with their noses and eyes!
Harris absolutely loves being outside. He would stay out all day every day if he could. Unfortunately, living in the Pacific Northwest isn't exactly conducive to that.....in the winter anyway. We do get out whenever there is a sun break though. Here Harris was enjoying mowing the sidewalk.
Friday is trash day at our house. This makes Friday a very exciting day. Harris LOVES the garbage and recycling trucks. When he hears them approaching, he runs to the closest window. He typically waves bye to them after they have collected the trash.
Last, but definitely not least, Harris loves to read. We read all day long. Some of Harris' current favorites are Goodnight Gorilla, Goodnight Moon, Little Pea (has always been a favorite in our house), Boo Boo, Knuffle Bunny, and Me With You. I love the Harris loves books so much. He will quietly sit and flip through his books several times a day. This isn't a long span of time, but maybe someday it will be. It is so nice to snuggle on the sofa and read book after book with my little man.

Tegu. Who?
Tegu? What in the world is that? Let me tell you my friends. :) My mom was watching the Today show and learned about these blocks made by Tegu. Tegu makes wooden blocks that are actually magnetic so all those little buildings and houses won't go tumbling down with the slightest nudge. Wonderful for those budding builders. Also, all of the blocks are made using eco-friendly wood. Even better! And I think it is really cool that you can donate trees through their website. They are actually so popular that they are not currently taking orders. So if you are like me, just keep checking the website until they are taking new orders. Just thought I would share a cool new product.
Hopefully we will have some updated photos of our latest and greatest for you soon!
